MultiGrid™ For Ships

The principle of MultiGrid™ is to support all disciplines with fixing points where and whenever needed, whatever purpose.

Standard support for ships

1: To be fixed by fabricator: Only the welding channels are fixed in the construction yard.  

  • Welding channels are supplied in carbon steel (CS) and to be painted together with the hull. 
  • The channels are welded to the ceiling above the equipment route.
  • The channels are installed in lengths of 1,5 m in parallel with the stringers with 2 m distance between them. 
  • Channels of 0,6 m lengths are installed between the stringers (se illustration).
  • These will also function as stiffeners for the stringers 
  • Please note: No cable ladders are installed at the construction site because of the risk of equipment changes.


2: To be fixed by installation contractor 

  • Hot Dip Galvanized cable ladders to be fixed to the channels with bolts and brackets. 
  • The channels provide fixing points throughout the route. 
  • There is no need for repainting, and the installation of cables can start immediately. 
  • Small pipes and other equipment can be installed using the same fixing points. 
  • The flexibility makes it easy to reroute equipment, making this a very cost effecient solution. 


Simplified support for ships


1: To be fixed by fabricator: Only welding brackets are installed in the construction yard.

  • The welding brackets are supplied in carbon steel (CS) to be painted together with the hull. 
  • The brackets are welded to the ceiling above the equipment route.
  • The placing of the brackets is depending on the width of the planned cable ladder.
  • The distance between the brackets along the length of the cable ladder should be roughly 2 m.
  • Please note: No cable ladders are installed at the construction site because of the risk of equipment changes.  

 

2: To be fixed by installation contractor

  • Hot Dip Galvanized cable ladders are fixed to the brackets with bolts.
  • There is no need for repainting and the installation of cables can start immediately.
  • Small pipes and other equipment can be installed using the same fixing points.
  • The brackets can be extended 300 mm splice channels or perforated UNO channels.
  • The brackets combined with channels give fixing points throughout the equipment route. 
  • Please note: No cable ladders are installed at the construction site because of the risk of equipment changes.
