Validation Service for Composite Structures
Oglaend System offers validation as a service to document the performance of our FRP supports. The comprehensive validation is made possible through our in-house developed material model and validation methodology – a tool which is utilized by our engineers with targeted expertise. The validation software used by our engineers is specifically developed and limited to our own EngiFibre® material.
Calculating FRP performance is inherently complex due to its anisotropic and non-linear behaviour, which differs significantly from traditional materials like steel. Unfortunately, many mistakenly apply steel-based methodologies when designing with FRP, which can lead to overestimations of strength by as much as 300%. Recognising this gap, Oglaend System has spent years developing a sophisticated and accurate method for FRP analysis. This advancement is the result of extensive collaboration with academic institutions, participation in university research partnerships, and a wide range of physical testing on our EngiFibre® material.
We are also proud to be active contributors to the official Eurocode committee working on the development of the new FRP standard. Our involvement places us at the global forefront of composite material technology and structural expertise, ensuring our solutions are based on the latest and most advanced knowledge available.
