Øglænd System wins Johan Sverdrup contract

Øglænd System has been awarded a contract for the supply of support systems, cable ladders and cable trays for four offshore platforms at the Johan Sverdrup field.

The contract is a frame agreement between Statoil and Øglænd System and the agreement covers the supply of multidiscipline support systems for the four platforms in the initial construction phase and opens for further supplies.

Secures jobs
- We hope and believe that we are going to supply more than these four platforms. It is difficult to estimate the value of the contract since it is a frame agreement, but together with the other contracts that we have been awarded lately we now have a backlog of orders worth several hundred million NOK and that says a lot about the size of the contracts. This contract will keep our factory in Norway running for several years and it is an important factor in securing our jobs for several year, says Øglænd System Norway's managing director Lauritz Løvø.

Cost saving support systems
- We are extremely proud and humble that we have been able to stand out in spite of the very tough competition in the market. The contract will be managed  Øglænd System's headquarters in Klepp/Norway and offers a variety of interesting tasks. It includes both engineering support, product design, production and supply of cost saving and standardized  multidiscipline support systems, cable trays and cable ladders, and will involve all 150 employees in Norway. And work will start immediately, says Øglænd System Group CEO, Geir Austigard.
